摘要
在「前工業－工業－後工業社會」的發展脈絡中，勞動生產為追求現代化而不斷改變， 人的價值亦然。從身體機制，機械協作，到智識技術，我們逐漸無法獨立掌握知識和 理解世界。所謂文明進步的現代化發展觀背後，資訊監控、同質化的意識形態和大敘 事的前設認知已植入每個人的軀體內，我們如何自處和抵抗？本文以家庭式印刷廠為 例，審視一個後工業社會處境的縮影，從而分析印刷術的特性和價值，呈現「版印、 印刷工業和當代媒體」的相互關係，並重新定義版印藝術（Printmaking Art）。透過理 解當代媒體的技術和視覺文化，本研究提出藝術家以「資訊重構」的方法抵抗後工業 社會。藝術家處於文化越趨單一的時代，應嘗試調整資訊過剩的生活模式，直視歷史 和自身經驗，重新建構、轉化和生產知識。此藝術創作以「微觀敘事」為題，尋拾印 刷廠裡所遺留的痕跡，透過細緻觀察和演繹，重塑不同世代的價值觀、對世界的理解 和應對時代的處世之道。
Abstract
In a society that developed from “pre-industrial” to “industrial” until “post-industrial”, the labour force that advocates modernisation has been going through significant changes, as have human values. We were born to perceive our world primarily with our body. One day, machinery came in place and now we are assisted by information technology. We are no longer used to acquiring knowledge on our own. In the name of civilisation and modernisation, each life is monitored as a piece of information while a set of homogenised ideologies and grand narratives is afoot. This essay focuses on a family-run printing house which illustrates a miniature of postindustrial society in situ. It aims to analyse and evaluate printing, by portraying an interrelationship between printmaking, the printing industry and contemporary media. The “Printmaking Art” is redefined. The research inspects the technicality of contemporary media and visual culture, and also affirms that artists can resist post-industrialism by “reconstructing information”. Artists live in the times of mono-culture bombarded by grand narratives. It is time to question the validity of information overdose and to heed our own history and personal experience. It is, actually, possible to rebuild, transform and generate knowledge. This art creation is titled “Microscopic Narrative”, in which traces are identified and experiences are revisited in the family printing house. Through delicate observation and interpretation, one can reshape the viewpoints and values from different generations while reconsidering one’s role in the world.
